On August 11, 2007, Fra Irwin M. Jacobs, Cornell '56 became the 47th member of Sigma Alpha Mu to receive the Fraternity's Achievement Award.

Centennial Celebration Commences
In a little more than two years, Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity will be 100 years old. We will commemorate the occasion in a number of ways. Special event dinners will be held across North America, during which we will recognize meritorious achievements by our Fraternity brothers.

Developing Leaders Initiative
This past academic year a new program was inaugurated by the Sigma Alpha Mu Foundation, called the Developing Leaders Initiative (DLI). After a selection process among campus, chapter, and academic leaders, eleven men were chosen for this inaugural program.

Sigma Alpha Mu is an interfraternity leader in scholarship as it has always been. Based on current reports, the unweighted cumulative average of our chapters is 3.0. This compares to the unweighted campus men’s average of 2.94. Our average ranks well above the average for fraternities of similar size.
